Pantanal River Cruise 7D6N

Meeting your guide 06:30am at the hotel or airport and proceed
with transfer to the Pantanal, 100km paved road to Poconé city and
145km on dirt road along the Transpantaneira Park Road to Porto
Jofre. There, we go into the Aguapé Houseboat, for lunch already
onboard and follow to the Meeting-of-the-Waters
State Park, that contains the Pantanal’s highest Jaguar
concentrations. At this first afternoon we start our safaris
after lunch. Each day, after sunrise and breakfast, we go
for safaris on radio-equipped speedboats, with great
sightings chances for Giant Otters, Kingfishers, Howler
Monkeys, and the main attraction – Jaguars. It is rare
to come away from this park without having seen
at least acouple of cats.
We will also encounter
other interesting
wildlife
including
Capybara,
Caiman,
and a big
number of
birds.
The birdlife here
is also fantastic, with
many different species
present, including Jabiru Storks,
Toucans, Trogons, Ibises, along
with many other species.
The next 2 nights, the Houseboat will be
anchored just on the entrance of the State Park, not missing
a single minute!

After breakfast, we start the boat safaris in the main search of
the Jaguar, returning to lunch on board and continuing the safaris
in the afternoon. The area, to be explored today and tomorrow, is
the Meeting-of-the-waters State Park, along the Cuiabá River and
its tributaries, perfect to find Jaguars, Howler and Capuchin
Monkeys, Giant Otters, Capybaras, Caimans, Anaconda and to
many kinds of birds, including Hyacinth Macaw. After the
afternoon safari, dinner and overnight on board.

After breakfast, we start the boat safaris in the main search of
the Jaguar, returning to lunch on board and continuing the
safaris in the afternoon. The area, to be explored today and
tomorrow, is the Meeting of the waters state park, along the
Cuiabá River and its tributaries, perfect to find Jaguars, Howler
and Capuchin Monkeys, Giant Otters, Capybaras, Caimans,
Anaconda and to many kinds of birds, including Hyacinth Macaw.
Today, by the end of afternoon we return to the house boat
already moving downstream. After arrival, dinner and overnight
on board. The house boat will continue to sail along the night
toward the Amolar Hills.

Today, in the morning we wake at the Pantanal National Park
area, and after breakfast as usual we explore these regions on
boat safaris. By midday we will arrive at serra do Amolar were we
have Lunch on board and explore the region, today on the lakes
around we have a real chance to find iconic Giant Lilly Pad.
Late afternoon the house boat restart navigating upstream along
the Uberaba and Gaiva Bays, good time to be at Aguapé because
the panoramic point of view from the top! To admire the Amolar
hills is for sure an unforgettable scene! During the night the sail
follow on Paraguay River again.
Taken by a sea in the past, due to its size, the bays don’t offer
many opportunities to observe wildlife, though many aquatic birds
can still be spotted and photographed from the boat. The
Aguapé’s rooftop provides a panoramic view, perfect for admiring
the vast expanse of the bays while approaching the Amolar Hills.

We wake up and the Aguapé continue its way, heading to the
Taiamã Ecological Reserve. We spend the morning exploring an
area south of Taiamã Ecological Reserve.
After lunch, already anchored near by the limit of Taiamã Reserve, we restart the speedboat safaris, exploring the area looking for Jaguars, Giant Otters, Monkeys, Birds, Capybaras, Caimans, today tour chances to spot Jaguars increases a lot until the end of the trip.
Tonight, the Aguapé will be anchored by the border of Taiamã Reserve.

Today, we start our speedboat safaris after breakfast in the area
of Taiamã Reserve and after lunch onboard if we are in good
weather conditions, we keep in the Taiamã by the afternoon, if
necessary, we continue the quest in direction to Descalvado,
exploring the Paraguay River and Its bays and tributaries. As every
day we are delighted for all kinds of birds, but the mammals since
yesterday are much more present again, and the jaguar becomes,
not the only one but the main target again! Today we overnight
nearby Descavaldo .

After early breakfast, we start our last outing on speedboats
looking for Jaguars and other riverine wildlife of the Paraguay
River, we stay the morning at the area between Descavaldo and
Porto Morrinhos, our disembark point.
After Lunch, one more quick safari from 02.00pm to 16.00pm.
before we return to Cuiabá. At 16.00pm we return for packing and
preparing to disembark at 18.00 pm after a delicious brunch. We
drive 75 km a long a dirty road, but on good conditions
(Facão road), untill we reach the Main Rod Br 070 for more 200
km untill Cuiabá.

On the Cuiabá River, we will explore the Porto Jofre
region and the Meeting-of-the-Waters State Park,
home of the greatest Jaguar concentration in the
Americas. On the Paraguai River, we will have the
chance to explore the Taiamã Ecological Reserve,
a rare opportunity to visit a jaguar and other wildlife
refuge. Along the meeting of the two rivers, we will
find the remote and beautiful Amolar Hills region,
with outstanding role in the Pantanal’s ecosystem.
This unparalleled landscape consists of rivers, bays,
and the surrounding hills covered by amazing forests.
